Simon Coveney was quoted on RTÉ.ie saying Irish Water would be spending “€5.5bn between now and 2021 on the water infrastructure”.

Did not one journalist have the presence of mind to ask him why that figure was the same as the “almost €1.2bn” that was spent on water annually prior to Irish Water being conceived?
