Seeking information on John Francis Maguire

I was contacted recently by a Rita Chesterton from New Jersey in the US asking for my help in tracing her ancestry which, like mine, is linked to John Francis Maguire, the founder of The Irish Examiner or then Cork Examiner.

John Francis Maguire was my mother Frances Daly’s great great grandfather. Rita’s query was to know if he had a sister called Margaret because her great great grandfather John Fitzgibbon married Margaret Maguire who she thinks was John Francis Maguire’s sister.

My late father and my cousin Kevin Dwyer did great work in putting together a family tree that traces back to John Francis Maguire but unfortunately it does not include his siblings.
