The lack of transparency has been a tool of rulers

Hats off to Fergus Finlay for his statement that “...politics is corrupt, public administration is corrupt, and democracy is dead”.

Successive governments have taken a sledgehammer to democracy in this country. Many articles of our Constitution have been breached time and again without a second thought. A lack of transparency has been a tool of government.

Until such time as accountability is restored we will continue to be a second-class nation. But firstly, the DPP should inform us where the pursuit of justice stands with regard to the Moriarty Tribunal findings.
