Has loss of faith led to addiction and violence?

This question has been trundling around in my head for a while and it’s difficult to actually formulate it.

I find myself wondering is there anybody making a connection between the violence, crime, drugs, savage killings, including macabre disrespect for the dead, and the new secularism?

Is not all this connected with the death of the Irish Church?
