Fine Gael’s financial speak designed to confuse

Fine Gael were on record on their Facebook page and elsewhere as ridiculing Sinn Féin for proposing to raise taxes on those earning €100,000 or more.

How strange it was to then hear Michael Noonan say they would impose a “clawback mechanism” for those earning €100,000 or more.

I guess - like the fictional ‘deal’ that they came back from Europe with re the gamblers’ debt that isn’t ours - their twisting of the English language has served them well.
