How strange it was to then hear Michael Noonan say they would impose a “clawback mechanism” for those earning €100,000 or more.

I guess - like the fictional ‘deal’ that they came back from Europe with re the gamblers’ debt that isn’t ours - their twisting of the English language has served them well.

As long as they don’t use the word ‘tax” they believe they can con voters as it allows them to claim “we didn’t raise taxes” - a lie that they told Greece.
