Government plans for Moore Street are not what relatives would choose

It is important to record that it was entirely due to the sterling efforts of campaigners that the State finally moved to purchase The 1916 National Monument at 14 to 17 Moore Street.

Successive administrations since 2005 allowed these historic buildings crumble into shameful decay and dereliction under the ownership of NAMA’ d developer Joe O’Reilly.

This has left citizens with a staggering bill of € 9 million towards their purchase and restoration.
