Yes, psychiatrists still hold sway in the usage of ECT
ECT has never been more useful than a bang on the head and many psychiatrists, including the late, great Michael Corrie, have been saying that for years.
If any two psychiatrists judge a patient to be ‘unfit to consent’ or, perhaps, ‘unfit to protest’ they can do as they wish.
We need to get the current situation clarified. No should mean no and we can not allow this to be overridden.
