Banking inquiry was just a box-ticking exercise

The banking inquiry is on its final legs. What will we learn?

Nothing. It is six years too late. Why was it stuffed with politicians? Why not independent professional economists and financial experts, preferably from outside the State?

Its terms of reference were ridiculous. It was with a heavy heart that I viewed some of the TV coverage; the panel were not allowed to question in depth nor attribute blame to any of those involved!
