Bradford and Creighton didn’t care before now

How interesting it is to note in yesterday’s Irish Examiner (January 18) that Paul Bradford and Lucinda Creighton rue the abolition of town councils.

Bradford and Creighton didn’t care before now

I can’t help but wonder if this Pauline conversion is motivated by the upcoming general election or by genuine concern for real local democracy.

When I and others fought might and main to retain the most vital and immediate form of local government, we heard not a whisper of support from either of those Oireachtas members.

Welcome aboard Paul and Lucinda, but where were you when we needed your voices?

Cllr Michael Gleeson, Independent

Co Kerry
