I see that the forked-tongue rhetoric of ‘choice’ is back in your letters column (Irish Examiner, January 9 ).

Has anyone ever heard a pregnant mother say that she is ‘expecting a potential son or daughter’? Or does anyone have the insensitivity to ask her, ‘how is your foetus?’

How conveniently the terminology changes to obfuscate the truth!

The Eighth Amendment has protected the right to life of a generation of Irish men and women, living, breathing and perhaps even reading this newspaper today.

Is abortion honestly the best ‘choice’ we can offer to support a woman and her unborn child in need?
