Petro-dollar at heart of wars

Paul Feeney is correct (Letters, January 1 ), when he says follow the money for an explanation of the destruction wreaked on the Middle East since 2003.

To be more specific, we should follow the so-called ‘petro-dollar’ which is bolstered by a US/Nato imperialism.

This dogma has been embodied in the US by the neoconservatives’ project for a New American Century, which targets non-compliant countries surrounding Israel.
