Petro-dollar at heart of wars
To be more specific, we should follow the so-called ‘petro-dollar’ which is bolstered by a US/Nato imperialism.
This dogma has been embodied in the US by the neoconservatives’ project for a New American Century, which targets non-compliant countries surrounding Israel.
Indeed, former US Army General Wesley Clark says he came across this in October 2001 during the bombing of Afghanistan, when he was told of a classified Pentagon plan to “take out seven countries in five years, starting with Iraq, and then Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and, finishing off, Iran”.
While Iraq and Libya, now broken and lawless, fell easily, the alliance of Syria, Hezbollah in Lebanon, and Iran, may prove to be the rock upon which this project founders.
The pro-Israel war lobby in Washington seems to have an inability to understand how the world has changed, a change fortified with Russian help.
We hope that Russia is successful and not least so Syria’s lost population can return home.
