On the way home from his local one night recently, an aspiring TD met the devil.

To his surprise, the devil was very friendly. The devil said that he could get him into Dáil Eireann, make him seem quite popular, and soon enough fairly wealthy.

“What do I have to do in return?

“Like the others, you have to give me your soul as well as the souls of your wife and children.

“OK Fair enough. But what’s the catch?
