Yes, feminism and PC culture has gone mad

Congratulations to Matt Harper (Letters, November 28) for looking at equality between the sexes from a more balanced perspective.
Yes, feminism and PC culture has gone mad

While it has been necessary to address discrepancies in salaries as well as promotional opportunities for females in the workplace, male partners and fathers are often discriminated against in the aftermath of divorce and legal separations.

It seems that such anomalies in family-related decisions have prompted millions of disillusioned males to associate with a new movement known as MGTOW, ‘men going their own way’. It is interesting to note that movements such as this have also attracted male students who are resentful of being regarded as potential rapists and bombarded with admonitions about the need for ‘sexual consent’. It is not surprising that many of these young men have decided to shun all forms of intersexual friendships.

One wonders if aggressive feminists have created unhealthy repercussions for their own sex. Relations between male and female colleagues in the workplace have also been affected by stringent regulations and attitudes.

Gone are the days when one could indulge in harmless, sexually-related banter. Once, a lecherous male could be subdued by a sharp smack of a folder. Such behaviour was never reported. Relationships between the sexes are complex and should be examined in a rational and balanced manner. If not, society will be destroyed by radical feminists who may alienate their male counterparts.
