Eddie Downey has said he does not regret his decision last week to resign as president of the Irish Farmers’ Association.

That is the opposite to what he declared on the night he resigned when, in a statement, he said he was making the decision with regret after working more than 20 years with the organisation.

In any event, he must be the only one in that organisation not to have regrets in relation to what has transpired in recent days.
