Men deserve equality too

Alison O’Connor is urging readers to raise issues with election canvassers in the name of “women’s equality” (Irish Examiner, November 20).

Men deserve equality too

In the interests of real equality, perhaps you would afford “men’s equality issues” some space. First of all, the serious issue of male suicide which is dismissed with clichés like “men not talking” or “men not seeking help”.

Also, the manner in which men/fathers are treated in family courts and the legal system generally. And what about the legislative power given to women to evict husbands/partners from the family home and deprive them of their children (section 10 Family Law Act, 1995). There are many, many more.
