Emmy honours for Baz Ashmawy - Mammy knows best

THE Irish Mammy continues to reign supreme. Far from being a figure of fun, she is the heartbeat of the nation and the biggest Irish Mammy of all these days is Nancy Ashmawy, mother of Baz.

He has always been an engaging presence on television but the starring role of his mother in 50 Ways to Kill Your Mammy proves that together, they are more than the sum of their parts.

The TV show was a winner at the 2015 International Emmys last night, picking up the award for Best Non-Scripted Entertainment. It has now been sold to more than 100 TV broadcasters worldwide.
