Many women believe in unborn’s right to life

In an article headed ‘When politicians come knocking, stop them and ask them about female equality’, Alison O’Connor (Irish Examiner, November 20) outlined a number of issues that could be raised with candidates. 

She concluded: “These are just a few of the issues that could be raised. Clearly, the issue of abortion will likely trump all of these, but the rest are well worth a mention”. This might be because apart from abortion ending the lives of many female foetuses, many people of both sexes believe that unborn children enjoy an equal right not to have their lives deliberately ended by another party.
