Same sex marriage is not true marriage

The present Government’s attempt to define the coming together of two adults of the same sex with the intention of living together for the purposes of sexual activity as “marriage” is flawed an injurious to the Constitutional meaning of the family for at least the following reasons:

Same sex marriage is not true marriage

1. The only meaning of the word “marriage” is “to marry” which has always meant “to take for husband or wife; to give in marriage; to unite in matrimony; to take a husband or a wife”.

2. A civil union of a man and a woman is just that, and is an unblessed condition unless it is also sacramental because the State has no power to impart God’s blessing.
