Recalling sacrifice has many dimensions

TOMORROW is Remembrance Sunday, when all the dead of all wars will be remembered with dignified and solemn ceremonies, especially at the Cenotaph in London.

Recalling sacrifice has many dimensions

There will be some ceremonies marking the occasion in Ireland, probably far more than there might have been at the height of the Troubles some decades ago, but the scale and centrality of those ceremonies will not accurately reflect the involvement of Irish people in Allied forces during both world wars.
