Irish historians have said, for decades, that Ireland was a ‘warm place’ for Protestants. But tell that to the people who were born in, and survived, places like the notorious Protestant Bethany Home.

That is when one knows that these writers, and the people who lived with the coldness, are not the same.

Over my 17 years of campaigning for justice for Bethany survivors, I was not shown warmth. The discrimination continues to this day.
