Michael Healy Rae TD says he doesn’t want any changes made to the Angelus. Well at least he’s keeping up the centuries old tradition of the Catholic church that is not changing and adapting.

We are told constantly that the church is the people’s church. So is it not right that the Angelus be known as ‘a time to pause’ or ‘a time for prayer’ so it suits non Christian viewers?

Mr Healy Rae and his colleagues are in the business of change after all.
