We need an East Cork ferry route

If more attention and investment were given to harbours and ports and our rail lines, it might help to ease the traffic jams we witness so often in our towns and cities.
We need an East Cork ferry route

It is regrettable that, similar to railways, harbours have declined. Why do we not make more use of our harbours and use ships to carry goods and people from place to place. Such a measure would reduce traffic on our roads and create employment.

Sea travel would help ease daily traffic congestion. Take, for example, the sailing route from Whitegate to Cork City, picking up passengers at Aghada pier, East Ferry, Ballinacurra, Aghanesk Pier, Carrigaloe/Cobh with the voyage terminal at Penrose Quay, Cork. In the interest of road safety, I hope this proposal will be brought to fruition.
