West Cork businesses issue a plea to Cork Airport management

This is the first time that we have come together to present a ‘unified voice for West Cork Business’ and this should be viewed as a barometer of the strength of feeling and collective positivity that exists in relation to establishing Cork Airport as a driver for economic success in our region now and into the future.

Whilst we welcome the indication outlined in the recent Irish National Aviation policy document that the airport’s future is secure until 2019 and also that new routes have recently been added (London City, Cardiff and Dusseldorf) we feel strongly that now is not the time for complacency.

More needs to be done to ensure Cork Airport serves and contributes to the economic requirements of West Cork and the wider Cork/South West region.
