Anti-windfarm movement shows rural solidarity alive

Last Saturday my wife and I attended a ‘Come Dine with Me’ evening in the Heritage Centre in Ardara, Co Donegal.

Anti-windfarm movement shows rural solidarity alive

The event was organised to raise funds for the local Ardara/Meentinadea Windfarm Group, which questions the suitability of the area for wind farming. To the Heritage Centre management and staff, to the sponsors, and to the group, we say thanks for the delightful food, service and a wonderful evening.

Yet again the community ensured an enormous display of solidarity. We wish the group the best in their endeavours. With new noise and flicker guidelines due, we feel sure An Bord Pleanála will reject the proposal.
