There is no Muslim plan to take over Europe

In response to Dr Frank Giles (Irish Examiner, Letters, 11 September) let me ask, do you think refugees are less deserving of our help based on their religious beliefs? 

Your argument could be construed as sectarian diatribe based on the hysterical belief that Muslims are going to takeover Western Europe. Nonsense. There more than four million Muslims living in Germany peacefully. There are also 49,204 (Census 2011) Muslims living in Ireland peacefully.

You may believe that these people are going to become a burden on European social services, but it is not only an obligation under international law to help these people but also our moral duty.
