In reference to your front page picture (Irish Examiner, September 3), here was a little boy not building a sandcastle, but lying in the water. He could have ended up playing with my son on the beach in Lahinch, had he lived.

I want you to do all in your power to prevent further children going through the fear that this child would have gone through! How long was he alone in the water until his short life slipped away? Seeing him lying face down in the shallow water, as if asleep, is the saddest thing.
