Killeagh Pastoral Council should ignore bishop

I was amazed to read that Bishop William Crean of Cloyne diocese has prohibited Fr. Tony Flannery from giving a lecture to the Killeagh Pastoral Council’s ‘Spiritfest’ event.

Might I ask what harm would it have done to hear his views on Church matters ?

To me Fr. Flannery is a good man and a good priest but in the Church’s eyes is’rocking the boat’ too much ?

Why doesn’t the Pastoral Council ignore the Bishop and let Fr. Flannery speak to them.

The crozier should be ignored on this occasion.
