Our Taoiseach needs to get his facts right

Yet again I am fit to be tied.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny refers to Thomas Kent as “one of many young men who, in the pursuit of the goal of Irish freedom, paid the ultimate sacrifice”.

Thomas Kent was born in 1865 — making him 51 at the time of his execution.

Hardly young by modern standards let alone those of the time.

It shocks me that this ill-informed man has a teaching job to which he can return.
