Death knell of Irish Water

The Irish Water saga reminds me of those old Hammer Dracula movies from the 1960s starring Christopher Lee as the eponymous count.

Death knell of Irish Water

The varying actions and mishaps should have but, so far, failed to deliver the coup de grace to an entity which has terrified the hell out of broad swathes of the populace.

Metaphorically, garlic, water and the cross have been inflicted upon the beast and its governmental overseers in the form of protests, resistance, electoral unpopularity and now the Eurostat ruling yet still it groans on, sucking the lifeblood out of State coffins, sorry, coffers, in the process. How long before the wooden stake and hammer arrive to put this beastly creature out of our misery?
