Priests guilty of hate crimes for centuries

Mr. Liam O’Mahony asks whether those “attired in clerical garb” at a demonstration were victims of hate crime as a result of “aggressive and confrontational” behaviour towards them.

During the recent referendum on same sex marriage priests up and down the country lectured, harangued, and insulted church goers and members of the public on the moral and societal damage of voting yes when it was none of the churches business how people voted.

Have not members of the Catholic Church been guilty of hate crimes against women and children since the 1600s?
