Israel flouts the law and scorns displaced people

Palestinians have been negotiating for 50 years to end Israel’s military dictatorship. However, Israel, the occupying power, has never respected any of the agreements, which, if implemented, would have brought lasting peace to the Middle-East.
Obviously, all land confiscated from Palestinians by Israeli forces will be allowed to stay in Israeli hands, leaving Palestinians with several non-contiguous land plots that consist of 12% of their original land.
Today, a two-state solution is out of touch with the reality in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
Every year, a water crisis is manufactured in the Palestinian territories, due to Israeli monopolisation of resources and the hampering of Palestinian water development. This is to ensure a constant supply to Israeli settlements.
Since 88% of historic Palestine is not enough for Israel, then the only logical alternative is a one-state secular democracy: one state for all inhabitants of varying religious beliefs, or no belief, just as they lived in peace before World War 1.
It is time for Israel’s supporters to understand that their state will never have peace as long as it continues to flout international law and scorn people it has displaced.
Without such understanding, Israel’s friends are its worst enemies.
