Desperately seeking battery recharger

Your article (Irish Examiner, July 3) on the passing of the late Val Doonican rightly notes the widespread regret at the departure of such a popular and unassuming entertainer.

However, the comment of his daughter Sarah on her 88-year- old parent’s demise is a cause of concern for those of us of a similar vintage.

“ It was just old age, I’m afraid--the batteries ran out.” Since then, I’ve been anxiously trying to locate my own batteries and feverishly searching the Golden Pages for a recharging or replacement service.
