Agriscience killed coffee’s true aroma
As a youngster growing up in Dublin I could smell the coffee from Bewleys in Westmorland St, from as far away as the Bank of Ireland. It cast a spell over all passers-by.
Unfortunately that aroma no longer haunts Westmoreland St, not because Bewleys have gone, but because the scientists have improved the coffee plant taking away the smell.
