Rent control will force landlords to leave State schemes

At a meeting in Wynne’s Hotel this week, 300 Irish Property Owners’ Association (IPOA) members vented their fury at the proposed introduction of rent control/certainty by the Government.

If this is foisted on the sector, there will be a mass exodus by property owners who provide private, rented accommodation to State-supported schemes, including registration with the Private Rental Tenancy Board (PRTB), Rent Supplement Schemes (RAS), and Housing Assistance Programme (HAP.
