Charles’s visit unseemly

The media reports about the visit to Ireland of Charles and Camilla are hard to stomach.

Charles’s visit unseemly

Firstly, there was huge cost to the Irish tax payer for the security. Secondly, Prince Charles is the titular head of the notorious Parachute Regiment, which was responsible for the shooting dead of 13 innocent civilians, in Derry, on Bloody Sunday. Prince Charles should have visited Derry, to pay his respects at the memorial to these innocents. Whilst remembering his grand-uncle, Lord Mountbatten, Prince Charles would do well to remember the bloodshed that he and his colonial ilk have reeked around the world.
