Make haste with the waste

TAKE a look around the kitchen, the garage and, most certainly, the attic and you’ll definitely spot some used electrical items that have been lying there for ages.

Make haste with the waste

We could be talking about old mobile phones, irons, TV sets or toasters, some of which clearly belong to another age. You might even come across obsolete video devices, cassette machines and record players from the ‘’his master’s voice’’ era, all reminders of the dim and faraway past.

Even in the recycling age, people still tend to hoard goods that are no longer needed. Time was when many things could be repaired and every parish had a man — in my case it was Billy Donnelly — who had the gift of being able to fix banjaxed clocks, radios, or any gadget at all.
