No campaign is also devaluing single parents

Earlier this week, in Galway, I saw the first ‘no’ posters on the upcoming marriage equality referendum. The slogan was: “Children deserve a mother and a father.”

What do children who are being reared by single parents think of this?

What do single parents think of this? Do they feel slighted in some way?

Reminds me of the “Hello divorce, bye bye daddy posters” from the 1995 divorce referendum.

I guess we’ll see more of these types of posters, designed to sow seeds of doubt in soft ‘yes’ voters,
