HSE deserves praise when praise is due

Following a recent article describing ‘a tea’ served in a hospital to a daughter of a television producer as ‘disgraceful’, I would like to tell you my experience at Cork’s Victoria/South Infirmary.

HSE deserves praise when praise is due

Last month I spent five days in the Victoria’s Floor 2 where I was admitted for skin tests and a biopsy.

Thankfully all my tests were clear but I want to state the quality of the doctors’ care, nursing staff, the food quality and the household staff who were second to none.

It was not a problem day or night if I had a worry or a query regarding my health.

But on the subject of food. I received the nearest thing to homemade meals that one could expect. The food was delicious.

I have diabetes and require insulin and while I was there, my blood sugar tests returned to normal due to food quality and my abstinence from sugary foods.
