Bank sales no barrier to interest rate reductions

Being the simple chap that I am, could you please riddle me this?

According to the argument being put forward by the ‘experts’, the Government are on the horns of a dilemma.

If they don’t force the banks to pass on interest-rate reductions to those on variable-rate mortgages, the electorate will clobber them in the upcoming general election.
