There really is no need for Irish Water to exist

This was a precursor to a drip-feed of worsening PR announcements that culminated in the disaster of bills being sent to customers. If the Government wanted to tap us up for another tax bill for the Troika collection plate, they should have added €100-€150 to each household property tax bill. If any legal issues were anticipated, they could have brought in new legislation. Irish Water need never have been floated.
