‘Yes’ campaigners alienating voters

It seems to me that the yes side in the same-sex marriage debate will continue to concede votes unless they pull back from name calling and bullying their opponents with false allegations.

‘Yes’ campaigners alienating voters

Having listened to many debates I have heard no one calling for the reintroduction of racial segregation. So can they please drop the Rosa Parks analogy. It merely insults people’s intelligence.

Indeed when Proposition 8 ( affirming marriage as the union between a man and woman) was carried in California, the African-American community were to the forefront in supporting same.

During the course of the debate in Ireland, some of the most passionate and articulate opponents of same sex marriage have been members of the homosexual community.

Unless the yes campaigners can desist from this unfortunate tendency to deny the goodwill of their opponents and stick to the arguments, they will merely alienate more people.
