Infuriatingly I’ve just noticed on Bookface an advert for the Bank of Ireland advertising a forthcoming visit by said bank to Carlow’s Fairgreen Shopping Centre looking to entice potential customers to borrow money from them.

Really fellow citizens, would you talk to, or do business with, any of our High Street banks after their role in our country’s banking crisis and after their role in bankrupting our country and the resulting austerity measures.

Organisations such as Bank of Ireland put their greasy hands into our pockets via government measures and stole substantial amounts of money from Irish taxpayers like you and me to pay for their financial incompetence and now they want us to talk to them about giving us a loan that only they will profit from.
