Double standards are practiced by all world powers. 

There are no values in international relations

For example, when Russia annexed the Crimea and held elections among the majority ethnic Russian population, the British and US cried foul. Yet when the British, with superior military forces, annexed the Falkland Islands from Argentina, they also held elections to justify going to war. The Crimea was part of Russia, unlike the Falklands, which is thousands of miles from the UK and nearer to Argentina.

So it’s no surprise that Argentina will supply beef and wheat to Russia in return for the lease of 30 sophisticated bombers. They still claim the Falkland Islands, and if another war starts the Argentinians won’t be such a pushover..
