It was surprising that two protest marches were held in Dublin last Sunday. One was ‘Anti-Racism Day’; the other was anti-water charges.

Am I racist because I’m not pro-Palestinian state?

When I arrived at the assembly point for the anti-racism march, I was astonished that the participants were mainly from the Palestine Solidarity Campaign. Unless you support the creation of a Palestinian state, even if it’s committed to the destruction of Israel, the only democracy in the region, you are a racist.

I did not partake in the march, and it was a warm, sunny day, so before boarding a bus for home I ‘bought’ a bottle of water to cool myself down.
