Letter said bill would cause unhappiness for children

Thank you for publishing your edited version of my letter (Irish Examiner, February 25)

However, your heading distorts what I said.

The bill, if passed, will cause great unhappiness to children who would be deprived of the presence of their biological parents and relatives.

Your heading, ‘Children’s Bill promotes broken families’, is not what I said.

I said that the family based on the marriage of a loving man and woman is the longest lasting, and so children in this unit will be less likely to be in a broken family.
