The Garda Siochána needs to downsize

As of January 31, the Garda website reveals that there are 2,394 Garda officers at rank of sergeant or above, and 185 of these are superintendent level or above.

Incredibly, the Garda structure allows 15 officers with the title of commissioner including two deputy commissioners and no less than 12 assistant commissioners.

In a country of about 4 million, this defies logic.
