Seanad costs more to run than water service

Water charges became necessary because we, the people, failed to vote for the abolition of the Seanad, an institution that costs as much, if not more, to run than does the provision of water nationwide.

Misconduct by water-charge protesters towards politicians who have done a wonderful job in getting this country back on track against all the odds is particularly reprehensible.

I expect that appropriate measures will be taken against water-charge protesters, and against other non-conformists, to ensure compliance with the rule of law.
