Labour are ‘buying’ votes with Eircode

I naively thought that Ministers Rabbitte and White had the best interest of all citizens, businesses and tourists at heart when deciding on the format for the much delayed Eircode.

Labour are ‘buying’ votes with Eircode

Alas I was wrong, very wrong. In order to garner Communication Workers Union (CWU) votes in the next general election these Labour ministers have done everything in their power to protect An Post’s monopoly by attempting to rollout a random postcode that is utterly useless for business and will cost lives in emergency situations.

The Eircode project had the potential to be immeasurably useful for the country.

How can Fine Gael allow their junior partner to screw up so badly?

Fellow citizens Eircode isn’t costing €27 million, it’s just Labour are buying 10,000 postal worker votes at a cost of €2,700 each.

And all with our money.
