Philosophy can fill a spiritual chasm

Education Minister Jan O’Sullivan’s proposal to incorporate philosophy into the curriculum of schools can only be of benefit.

Philosophy contributed to ancient Greece’s status as the cradle of civilisation.

It was in the city state of Athens 3,000 years ago that Socrates, Plato and Aristotle taught philosophy, Pythagoras mathematics and Hippocrates medicine and so kickstarted a world that had little idea where it was heading.
