Labour’s love lost: Fine Gael flirting with Fianna Fáil and a possible ‘remarriage’

Unrequited love is our theme today. My heart went out to Joan Burton yesterday morning. I hope you had the sensitivity to feel the same. 

The Tánaiste woke up like the woman rubbing her eyes who realises the sweet-nothings that put her to sleep are the sound of her boyfriend chatting up another girl on the telephone. The deceit, the shame — the fury.

No this isn’t more guff about the heterosexuals in government feeling they have to explain why they are attracted to the opposite sex. It’s about Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney chatting up Fianna Fáil on the front page of this newspaper yesterday.
